Fede D. Jara
Scientist, Innovator & Artist.
Federico Jose Jara Crua is an artist and scientist whose career masterfully bridges the worlds of bioscience and art. Born in southern Chile to a family of architects, his childhood was steeped in creativity and design, an environment that awakened his imaginative spirit.
Despite this artistic foundation, Federico’s boundless curiosity led him to the realm of science. He pursued studies in biology in Chile and later specialized in bioengineering at EPFL in Switzerland, one of the world’s most prestigious universities. Early on, he played a critical role in developing bioreactors for space exploration His journey then expanded across Europe, with time spent in cities like Warsaw, Prague, and Lovech, each adding to his rich tapestry of global influences.
Federico’s pursuit of innovation deepened when he returned to Switzerland to enter the cutting-edge field of synthetic biology. There, he focused on designing molecular systems for the biosynthesis of medicines targeting mental health, an endeavor that led him to Berlin to found his first company. This pivotal work sparked a deep interest in wellness and anti-aging. During this transformative period, painting reemerged as a vital part of his life—a meditative practice and a profound medium for translating scientific ideas into visual masterpieces.
Federico’s signature art is celebrated for its fluidity, vibrancy, and evocative beauty, mirroring the chaos and harmony of the natural world. His works explore the idea of ‘the moment’ where order and disorder meet, that instant of awareness the moment of aw and action transforming dynamic compositions that resonate with both the mind and the soul.
Today, Federico serves as Creative Director and Senior Bioengineer at a leading biotechnology company, pioneering advancements in regenerative therapies and anti-aging technologies. His upcoming book, The Flow of Consciousness, delves into the quantum biology of molecular life and its role in transforming the unconscious into conscious thought—an evolutionary journey toward well-being and longevity. Federico’s interdisciplinary brilliance positions him as a new-age visionary, inspiring audiences to see the intricate connections between science, art, and the human experience.

The Biology of Art
I know that artistic creation is a channelization of the energy that flows through us, a deeper expression of our organism. According to our current understanding of fundamental physics, including quantum field theory, the world we live in, our bodies, food, and even the air that we breathe can be described as manifestations or condensations of energy fields. This energy interconnects everything in our world, and it's the purest expression of our universe.
